Does no one care at Northern about the information they are supposed to provide for passengers using their stations? yet again the tannoy system has failed at Marsden and Slaithwaite. For weeks now, passengers waiting at Slaithwaite have been getting only intermittent messages, from the last week even these seem to have ceased. Perhaps to Northern it is of little consequence that, as a company they have consistently forgotten to provide a basic information service to it’s passengers over the years they have had this franchise. This failure is multiplied in it’s effect when , as so frequently happens, their trains are late or cancelled. Perhaps our new member of parliament who professes to take a great interest in pub;lic transport, will take note of the poor quality of service provided by Northern when the franchises come to be renewed shortly.
