Timetable changes, weekend of 7 & 8 November 2026

The normal Manchester Piccadilly to York stopping service will operate differently, with two separate services running.

This is due to planned engineering work affecting the Hope Valley route between Manchester and Sheffield.

Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield

An hourly six-car Class 185 service will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield, calling at Stalybridge, Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, Mirfield and Wakefield Kirkgate.

For passengers at Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden & Slaithwaite stations, this means they will still be able to travel directly to Manchester Piccadilly and Huddersfield. They will also have a direct service to Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate and Sheffield.

Saturday 7th November

Sunday 8th November

Wakefield Kirkgate to York

The normal through service from Manchester Piccadilly to York will not operate. Instead, a separate service will run between Wakefield Kirkgate and York.

Passengers travelling from Mossley, Greenfield, Marsden & Slaithwaite stations towards York will therefore need to check their connections, including changing at Wakefield Kirkgate.

Saturday peak services

The additional Saturday peak services between Leeds and Manchester will operate as normal.

Passengers should check their revised departure times before travelling.
