Edit: in what is now the best traditions of TPE, one of their inbound trains on Wednesday 5th (plus one of Northern’s) was terminated at Stalybridge. Along with some trains from Stalybridge to Victoria being replaced by buses, this left hundreds of passengers to be squeezed on the following train, and many left behind.
Conspiracy theorists are speculating that this was done in order to prevent angry passengers from this line from getting to the “meet the manager” event at Piccadilly. Obviously SMART does not subscribe to this conspiracy theory.
