A booze ban was in force on four Saturday train services from Teesside to York after a rise in complaints on anti-social behaviour.<\/strong><\/p>\n The British Transport Police (BTP) said it had received reports from passengers on the First TransPennnie services from Middlesbrough being intimidated.<\/p>\n The ban was only for one day, but BTP said it may extend the scheme if it is deemed successful.<\/p>\n The “dry” trains were the 09:28, 10:28, 11:28 and 12:28 services.<\/p>\n Ch Insp Derek O’Mara said:<\/p>\n “There has been a noticeable increase in the number of complaints from passengers who have been travelling on these services and they report having been subjected to alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n “Trains are not extensions of bars and clubs; they are used by everyone including families, young people and the elderly.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-30358959<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Perhaps something that could be tried on the ale trail?
